About me

I got into crypto in 2017, and until late 2025 I was purely an altcoin player — that’s when I finally started trading memecoins.

Even though I hadn’t traded memecoins before, I’d always known GMGN’s reputation. When I started, I tried a few different apps, but in the end I still chose GMGN.

Why I chose GMGN

  1. Simplicity. Like Apple’s design philosophy, every button, line, and screen in GMGN is designed for the user’s convenience — and for speed.

Compared to other apps, GMGN has no flashy buttons and no fancy animations; it keeps things mostly text-based in how it displays information and how you interact. That lets each screen show as much as possible, and makes every action feel silky-smooth.

  2. Convenience. For example, to check a narrative you can jump straight to X to search and quickly see what KOLs are saying about it. Follows and notes let you instantly spot which “lead wallets” (the whales driving a pump) are in a trade and which paper hands are on board. And the floating-ball widget lets you monitor several competing variants at once while you’re aping in, so you can quickly tell which branch the market is backing.

And of course, features like AI signals, multi-wallet support, and Daily Insights all reflect GMGN’s thoughtful, user-friendly design.

The most thoughtful feature

The most thoughtful feature in GMGN, in my view, is automated take-profit and stop-loss.

Because I trade memecoins on my phone, sometimes I’m busy with other things and can’t sit glued to the screen. So I set my take-profit and stop-loss — say, stop out on a 50% drop, take my principal back on a 2x, and so on. That cuts down the time I have to sit and wait, while still letting me catch the hot events happening on-chain.

What I’d complain about

The GMGN app is already very polished and the experience is super smooth. If I really had to nitpick, maybe it’s that you can’t set up automatic rebates, and the fees are a bit expensive — a slight case of “a big store taking its customers for granted.”

The trade I remember most

I’ve had many memorable trades — 踏马 (Tama), 人生K线 (Life Destiny K-Line), memes, 龙虾 (Lobster), and so on.

The most memorable golden dog (a memecoin that mooned) was memes. I got in at around a $2M market cap, then watched the lead wallets I follow keep piling in hard and pushing the market cap up — genuinely exhilarating. Then He Yi (Binance’s co-founder) retweeted it, and the market went into a frenzy.

In the end I raked in 30 BNB.

No PVP

When I first started trading memecoins, all I knew was to go PVP every day, fighting it out with everyone else. Once I’d played more, I realized how exhausting daily PVP is — the return on effort just isn’t worth it.

The best approach is PVE: monitor the market’s hot spots every day, and when there’s a big, high-certainty opportunity, rush in fast. That way you can both build a position and lock in high returns — far better than nibbling on “fly legs” (tiny scraps) grinding PVP all day.

Final thoughts

I may be a crypto old-timer, but I’m also a memecoin rookie.

Even though I haven’t caught many golden dogs these past few months, I believe that, following my own experience and pairing it with an on-chain power tool like GMGN, one day I’ll land a big result of my own!
